Dr Adam Sayers

Chiropractor

Dr Adam Sayers is a chiropractor at Pure Health Centre. He qualified with a Master’s degree in Chiropractic from the University of Johannesburg in 2007 and has been in private practice for more than 19 years.

Dr Sayers has experience in family wellness which begins with pregnant ladies, paediatrics and children and extends into caring for the family unit as a whole.

With a particular interest in pregnancy, babies and children, Dr Sayers has continued to develop his expertise in paediatric and family chiropractic care.

He holds a Master of Science in Paediatrics from Health Sciences University in Bournemouth, United Kingdom, and is Webster Technique Certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA).

His postgraduate research focused on the management of positional plagiocephaly (infant head shape asymmetry) and has subsequently been published in the Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics. This research explored helmet therapy and the potential role of chiropractic care in the management of infants with positional plagiocephaly.

Your body’s ability to heal itself is immense, we just have to work to help it express that.

His approach to care focuses on improving spinal and musculoskeletal function, movement and posture, while considering the individual as a whole.

Care is tailored to each patient’s age, needs and stage of life, from pregnancy and infancy through childhood and into adulthood.

Your first consultation begins with a thorough history and assessment to better understand your concerns and determine an appropriate approach to care. Where chiropractic care is indicated, treatment may include chiropractic adjustments together with advice around movement, mobility and other relevant lifestyle factors.

As care progresses, exercises and mobility work may also be incorporated to help reinforce improvements, build resilience and support better long-term function.

Dr Sayers has a particular passion for working with babies and children and believes that careful assessment, appropriate care and early recognition of musculoskeletal difficulties can play an important role in supporting healthy development.

Outside of practice, Adam is married to Dr De Canha, Pure Health Centre’s homoeopath, and together they are raising their two sons.’

“It was as we started our journey down parenthood that I realised where my true passion lies for practice as well. I feel helping to build strong children will help create healthier adults in time.”
